WINTER PLANTS

Winter in Texas is a wonderful time for a walk in the woods on a cool, sunny afternoon.   Yes, even a plant walk.  Have you ever wondered why so many birds gather here in the winter?   Why, to feast , of course.   Our native landscape is loaded with berries and grains.   Even the insect eaters such as the brown creeper, warblers and woodpeckers find sustenance here in the winter.  How do they do it?  It is all about plants, both those with, and without leaves.  Come and see what we can discover about native plants in winter.

Hosted by Joan Mukherjee who has been studying the flora of the Texas Hills Country for over 15 years.
